Katie Millington is an executive producer, creative leader, and award-winning poet with over 20 years’ international experience spanning theatre, film, poetry, branded content, and immersive live experiences. Her work sits at the intersection of storytelling, performance, advocacy, and cultural production. Katie’s career reflects a lifelong passion for stories, whether told in verse, on stage, or on screen.
Katie has executive produced internationally recognised feature documentaries, including More Than Gold (Sky NZ) and Beyond Conversion (TVNZ), both of which centre personal truth, visibility, and institutional accountability. Her work is underpinned by a deep commitment to equity and representation - particularly the voices and visions of women.
Her career began in Sydney’s independent theatre scene, producing critically acclaimed plays such as Unspoken (Sydney Theatre Award winner, 2004). She went on to lead post and digital creative teams at Animal Logic and Deepend, and later served as Managing Director of Eight Productions across Australia and New Zealand, growing its reach across TVC, branded, and narrative content.
Her current work spans artistic programming, live events, and literary production. In 2025 she produced a site-specific community play (The Dream) for SPID Theatre and curated The Lemonade Presents cultural calendar of purpose-driven events, including The Female Lens, Queerness on Film and Gifted & Black that uplift underrepresented creative voices.
Also an accomplished poet, Katie’s work is currently featured in The F Word Exhibition at Firepit Gallery, London (2025). Her writing has been published in A Fine Line (NZ Poetry Society), This Twilight Menagerie, and the Binsted Prize Anthology.
A graduate of the University of Wollongong (Creative Arts & English Hons), Katie is driven by a belief in the transformative power of story to connect, to agitate, and to re-imagine what’s possible.
